Parking

  • Be a good neighbor and do not block driveways – Police will be called to ticket and/or tow your car.
  • You may park at George Washington on Rosh Hashanah, Saturday & Sunday, September 19 & 20.

Service Times

Reminder

  • For security purposes, all congregants and visitors must show photo ID and High Holiday ticket to enter the building.

Childcare & Babysitting

Teen Zone – Gallery
All teens (7th-12th grade) are expected to either be in the Teen Zone which is taking place in the Gallery or in services in the chapel or the sanctuary.  The Teen Zone’s first session is at 9:45 a.m.  Please arrive on time so we can start the sessions without disruption.  Please note the Teen Zone will be staffed at all times to ensure safety of our teens and security for our prescool classrooms and supplies.

Ten Commandment Requirements

Participants in our Teen Shabbat FUNdamentals Track are expected to complete a series of tasks listed below.  Please note that this list offers 10 possible tasks, but students may offer suggestions for other activities which, once approve by the Education Director (Robin Hanssen), may be used to fulfill the requirement.  Students must complete one task for each grade level, ie: 7th Graders need to complete seven tasks.  All tasks must be completed by Friday, April 30th.

  1. Volunteering for 1 major synagogue program (Annual Dinner, Sukkah Hoe Down, Purim Carnival)
  2. Volunteering for 1 major synagogue project (organizing for High Holy Days, cleaning out the basement, custodial support before a big program, etc.)
  3. Participate in a minimum of three (3) Shabbat Services
  4. Participate in a minimum of one (1) holiday service
  5. Attend a minimum of seven (7) Shabbat classes (out of 10)
  6. Write and present one (1) D’var Torah for class
  7. Create one (1) Jewish personality poster for display
  8. Develop, organize, and implement one (1) class Mitzvah project
  9. Write and share one (1) diary entry about a family holiday celebration from that year
  10. Participate in creating a class project based on the year’s study topics
