What Is MLC?
The Mesorah Learning Center is a Jewish religious school program that imparts traditional values, synagogue and cultural literacy and an excellent foundation in Hebrew. We are an inclusive community that serves members of our own congregation as well as unaffiliated Jewish families. Classes will start on Sunday, August 28. Click for the Registration Packet 2012-13
What Does MLC Do?
Our staff features highly experienced professional teachers of Hebrew and Judaic Studies who will guide your children along a fun and engaging path of Jewish learning. Using developmentally-appropriate teaching tools, MLC students explore many aspects of Jewish tradition, including holidays, history, culture and Torah. Our Hebrew literacy program begins with reading and writing skills that ultimately prepare your child for meaningful synagogue participation in prayer and Torah reading. Each MLC class will also work on a tzedakah project that will teach the value of community service. Children will engage socially while they learn and – most importantly – develop a strong Jewish identity.
Why Is MLC Right For My Family?
The BMH-BJ Synagogue is one of the most established traditional synagogues in Denver. We value our history and affiliation as a Modern Orthodox synagogue, and we also are very innovative and welcoming to Jewish families of various backgrounds and levels of religious observance. The Mesorah Learning Center is a new initiative for BMH-BJ as of 2011, designed to offer the highest standards in supplementary Jewish education. We welcome input from our participating families on this venture. MLC will encourage parent involvement through volunteering and social engagements, as well as monthly classes for our parents. Furthermore, included in the Mesorah tuition is access to the BMH-BJ Shabbat Fundamentals program. We request that families participate in the greater synagogue’s programs for Shabbat and Holidays, as well as young family programming throughout the year. We hope you will engage in our community!
