In this class we will explore four different eras of Jewish music. 

We will begin with Torah and Haftarah cantillation as well as discussion of the five megillot, of which Esther is just one.  In the second and third classes, we will explore how Jewish music was directly influenced by the lands that we lived in, including our time in Persia, the Golden Age in Spain, the Dark Ages in Europe, and the Renaissance through Broadway.

In the final class, which will be part of Pesach University, we will revel in the music of Pesach/Passover, including the big hits, “Dayenu”, “Manishtanah” and “Who knows One, I know one!”
