Job Description
Position Title: Senior Rabbi
Organization: BMH-BJ Congregation, Denver, CO
Job Type: Full Time
Start Date: TBD
ABOUT BMH-BJ CONGREGATION
BMH-BJ is a unique, historic congregation serving approximately 700 diverse members, including singles, couples, and families. Established in 1897, BMH-BJ is guided by tradition and energized by a bold vision for the future. Today, our congregation is supported by exceptional resources: a dedicated membership; one of the largest Jewish preschools in Colorado with over 100 enrolled children; large, updated facilities in central Denver; an active and engaged Board of Directors; and loyal staff.
We are entering an exciting new chapter as a modern outreach-oriented Orthodox congregation that reflects the diversity and vitality of contemporary Jewish life. Our mission is to foster growth, connection and a sense of belonging to build a community where individuals and families thrive together, connect, feel at home, and choose to stay.
Through thoughtful strategic planning we have developed a vision for our future (See white paper) and have boldly started this transformational process by placing a mechitza in our sanctuary, ending our tenure as one of the last traditional orthodox congregations where men and women sit together. This effort has integrated two disparate services- a Chapel minyan with a mechitzah that offered daily and Shabbat services, and a mixed seating minyan in the Main Sanctuary on Shabbat mornings and holidays.
We are looking for a visionary entrepreneurial Rabbi who will offer dynamic programming, educational opportunities, meaningful, vibrant prayer services, and who will lead us on a journey to build our future together.
